Mission Impossible?

In Movies on 18 May, 2006 at 3:00 pm

To uphold the image of the Shanghai city, China Censorship Board has asked M:I III producer and director to delete certain scenes that are deemed “harmful” to the image of Shanghai.

The dirty laundry shown are the problem here.  In one scene laundry is shown hanging from balconies.  In another there are bamboo poles all over the rooftop with underwears hanging.

So will M:I III be a mission impossible in China?

If you choose to accept this mission…

I have watched Mission: Impossible III last last Friday.  It is a nice movie, better than the last 2 in my opinion.  The plot might not be much but the show is jam pack with action.

No matter what Channel News Asia film critic said (2 popcorn out of 5), this is still THE film to watch!  This post will self terminate in 5 sec…

The Da Vinci Code

In Gaming on 21 April, 2006 at 3:00 am

So they are really making a Da Vinci Code game, Dan Brown is just getting richer and richer.

It sounds like fun and it will actually be release before the movie starring Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou is release.

Audrey Tautou really didn’t know that she will actually be starring in the movie.  She went for an interview thinking that she will not be selected.  Not until Ron Howard became serious about choosing her, that she realized that she might be really playing along side Tom Hanks.

OK, back to the game.  I hope that it will be a good one, so that it can tide me over until the big thing that is going to happen in June.  Yes, FIFA Worldcup 2006.

Fearless beats Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon

In Movies on 2 February, 2006 at 2:00 am

According to the news article at the official website of Fearless, the weekend outing in most of East Asia total US$ 7.5 million (the news article said South East Asia, but the report include China, HK and Taiwan, thus I change it to East Asia).  Quote “These weekend numbers have surpassed that of “Hero“, “Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon” and “House Of Flying Daggers“.”

Jet Li’s new shows is awesome!

The fighting is awesome and the story is good.  My take is that anyone who like action movie should definitely watch this.  Very little special effects is employ in this movie (for the fighting scene at least) which make the fighting scene quite true to real Chinese Wushu.  The idealogy put forth in this movie is also true to the teaching of the Wushu.  The true strength of a Chinese pugilist is not in his skill but in his way of treating others and knowing oneself.

Watch the trailer.
